This bi-lingual telephone multi-year CATI
study project assessed the impact of Physician/Patient
interaction on patient knowledge and behavior
regarding cancer screening. Telephone interviews
were conducted in multiple years with 100
physicians and 3,000 of their patients.
This project was initially conducted under
the coordination of the RAND Corporation,
but was later transferred to UCLA. Interviews
were completed in English and Spanish.

This
multi-year telephone CATI study project
assessed anxiety and depression among veterans
in specific VA regions throughout the U.S.
All CSRS staff working on this study went
through multi-day trainings on issues of
Suicide and Depression. CSRS worked with
the VA to set up a detailed protocol to
refer respondents to on-call physicians
while telephone interviewing was occurring.
CSRS was also responsible for sending personalized
letters to all potential respondents and
to track respondent returned “Preference
for Contact” cards to meet the requirements
of the VA IRB. In YEAR 1, of this project,
over 25,000 veterans will be contacted,
screened for eligibility, and interviewed
if qualified.

This large scale telephone study was the
largest health research study undertaken
in the Asian Indian community. CSRS completed
interviews in Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi,
and English. CSRS worked with UCLA to inform
eligible respondents of their selection
and eligibility and to meet UCLA IRB requirements.

This bilingual telephone CATI study was
designed as a benchmark for evaluating
internet usage in U.S. households. This
long-term study is designed to track the
social consequences of the Internet and
its expanding role in consumer's lives.
Interviews were completed in English and
Spanish. CSRS has completed 5 years of
data collection on this project.

This multi-language six year telephone
CATI project will assess the use of media
and technology in over a dozen ethnic communities
in Southern California. During the first
two years of the project, California Survey
Research Services, Inc. has completed interviews
in the Mexican American, Caucasian, Korean,
African-American, Armenian and Central
American communities. Interviews were completed
in English, Spanish, Korean, Farsi, and
Chinese.
